Disinfecting a Minor Injury

Florence Earle Coates - March 30, 2022

There are certain things that are more or less unavoidable based on the manner in which you have currently chosen to end up living your life at this current point in time. As a result of the fact that this is the case, instead of trying to protect yourself from these things, you would be much better off figuring out how you can go about treating them when they occur. A great example of this would be various kinds of minor injuries which often include things such as cuts and scrapes that are quite common if you play sports or run around a lot.

There are countless steps that you can take in order to treat wounds from a minor injury, but the first step should definitely be to disinfect it without a shadow of a doubt. After all, the only real danger that such an injury might pose is that it would allow bacteria into your body. An infection can turn an otherwise meaningless injury into something that would cause you a massive amount of pain and suffering, so this step should be taken even if you don’t want to do anything else at all.

Rubbing alcohol can be useful here since it would kill all of the bacteria that are trying to get in. Your immune system can handle a lot, but that doesn’t mean that you should push your luck and try to overburden it. Tetanus and other illnesses become increasingly common if you don’t disinfect your wounds, so instead of letting them fester you should follow this tip and also bandage the wound up to further protect it from microbes that would make matters worse for you over time.
